Ronald W. "Bones"Campana, 87, of Monessen, died Monday June 28, 2021 as a result of complications from a stroke. He was born on October 31, 1933 in Monessen, the son of the late Jasper and Italia (Como) Campana. "Bones" as he was affectionately known, lived his entire life in Monessen, graduated from Monessen High School in 1952, and worked as a barber up until May of this year. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord R.C. Church, Knights of Columbus Council 954, and the Mon Valley Leathernecks. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Michaelene Garofalo Campana, son, Ronald (Luanne) Campana of Shrewsbury, MA; his three grandchildren, Nicole Campana of Boston, MA; Dominic Campana and his partner, Amanda Brennan, of Brooklyn, NY, Brian Campana and his wife Jessica of Uxbridge, MA; and by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Christopher in 2014, and by three brothers, William, Ernani, and Jasper Campana. To honor Mr. Campana's request, there will be no public visitation. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday July 2, 2021 at 10:00 am in Epiphany of Our Lord Church, 44 Pennsylvania Blvd. Monessen, with Rev. Michael J. Crookston officiating. The family suggest memorial contributions be made in Mr. Campana's name to St. Jude Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
