Ronald F. Todd Jr.

May 23, 1947 — January 4, 2014

Ronald F. Todd Jr., 66, of Jeannette, lost his battle with prostate cancer on Saturday January 4, 2014.

He was born on May 23, 1947, the son of the late Ronald F. "Bud" Todd Sr. and Lydia Ingani Todd who survives and resides in Monessen. Ron was a 1965 graduate of Monessen High School and a California State College graduate. He owned and operated Pelican Shoals Motel and the Dairy Bar, both in Daytona Beach, FL, and later, Beer Arena in Murrysville, PA.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served in the U.S. Army's 101st Airborne Division.

Ron was an avid fisherman and loved to golf, and really enjoyed spending time with his friends, Cliff, Paul, Michael, Ted, and Dan.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 41 years, Marylou (Diethorn) Todd, his two daughters, Melanie Todd (Toby) Springate of London, England, Erin Todd (Kevin) Mulkeran and his daughter Briana of Holly, MI, two sisters, Cynthia Victoria of Austin, TX, Janet (John R.) Campbell of St. Louis, MO, a brother-in-law, Richard R. Victoria of New Stanton, and by numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Ave. Monessen, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 10, 2014, at 10:00 am in the funeral home with Rev. Michael J. Crookston officiating. Private interment will be in Mon. Valley Memorial Park, Donora.

Ron lived his life with the philosophy that .............Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming - WOW - What a ride!
