Ronald F. "Bud" Todd Sr., 81, of Monessen, died suddenly on Tuesday, May 22, 2007 in the Emergency Room of Monongahela Valley Hospital Inc.He was born on November 15, 1925, the son of the late Emma Jane Lee Todd, and stepson of the late James Todd. He grew up in Monongahela and was a graduate of Monongahela High School. Mr. Todd moved to Monessen in 1948.Mr. Todd was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord R. C. Church, V.F.W. Allison Lescanic Post 1190, both of Monessen, American Legion James C. Ford Post 949 of Carroll Twp., and the Mon. Valley Leathernecks. He retired in 1984 from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation's Monessen Plant, having worked as a crane operator in the BOF. After retiring, he and his wife moved to Daytona Beach, FL but returned to Monessen in 1989. He was a veteran of WW II, having served with the U.S. Marines in the Asiatic Pacific Area. He enjoyed hunting and was an avid golfer, having belonged to numerous golf leagues in the area. He began golfing as a teenager, when he worked as a caddy at the Monongahela Valley Country Club. He had his first hole-in-one in 1997 at the Daytona Beach Country Club, while golfing with his son and other club members. At the age of 74 he shot his age, and when he turned 80, he received a personal congratulations from Arnold Palmer.He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lydia Ingani Todd, a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald F. and Marylou Todd of Jeannette, two daughters, Cynthia Victoria of Rostraver Twp., Janet Campbell and husband John of St. Louis, MO, a son-in-law, Richard R. Victoria of New Stanton, a brother and sister-in-law, James F. and Ann Todd of Stone Mountain, GA, seven grandchildren, Melanie Todd Metz of Buffalo, NY, Erin Todd of Holly, MI, Richard Todd Victoria and wife Andrea of Pittsburgh, Alexander D. Victoria and wife Alisa of Austin, TX, Cynthia and Robert Campbell of St. Louis, MO, Lauren Campbell of Overland Park, KS, three great-grandchildren, Isabella, Dominic, and Alexander Victoria, and several nieces and nephews.Friends will be received on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM in the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home, Inc. 441 Reed Avenue Monessen, (724-684-8750).Services will be held on Saturday May 26, 2007, beginning with a 9:30 Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 AM Funeral Mass in the Epiphany of Our Lord R. C. Church. Interment will follow in Mon Valley Memorial Park, Donora. On Friday evening services will be conducted by the V.F.W. Post 1190 at 7:00 PM, and the Mon Valley Leathernecks at 7:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions to the Mon Valley Leathernecks Toys for Tots, or the American Cancer Society.
