Sam Nuzzaci, 94, of Florida, formerly of Monessen, died on Thursday April 22, 2010 at the Alliance Center for Healthcare, Deland, FL.He was born in Monessen on June 14, 1915, the son of the late Rafael and Anunciata (Nancy) Merenda Nuzzaci. Mr. Nuzzaci moved to Italy at the age of three, grew up in Italy, and moved back to Monessen at the age of 15. He resided in Monessen most of his adult life until moving to Florida 5 years ago. While living in Monessen, he was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord R. C. Church and was a member and past president of Sons of Italy. He retired with 30 years of service from the Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation, having worked in the fabric division. He continued to work for the next 30 years as a printer and paper cutter for M and M Publishing Company and Business Forms Inc., both in Monongahela.He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Lawrence and Patricia Nuzzaci of Palm Coast, FL, a brother, Thomas Nuzzaci, of Stratford, Conn, and by seven grandchildren, Tamara, Ryan, Annamarie, Christine, Michele, Jolynne, and Jolene.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step mother Cosimina Nuzzaci, wife Rose Theresa (Vaccaro) Nuzzaci, a daughter Donna Angelillo, a sister Mary Sassak, and three brothers, Philip, Tony, and Louis Nuzzaci.Friends will be received at the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue Monessen (724-684-8750), on Monday April 26th from 8:30 am to 9:00 am, time of the service with Fr. David J. Nazimek officiating.
