Shirley E. Taylor, 92, of Monessen, passed away on August 27, 2026, at TownView Health and Rehabilitation Center, Canonsburg. She was born on December 15, 1933, to the late Theodore and Irene (Green) Walters. Shirley worked as a nutrition Aid for Penn State University and then for the Mon Valley Health Center where she was a supervisor for group homes. She was Baptist by faith and a member of Union Baptist Church in Monessen, serving as Sunday School Teacher, a member of their choir and a former director of the Junior Missionaries. She loved her cats, enjoyed sewing, was an excellent cook and baker. Shirley is survived by her daughter, Nancy Taylor with whom she made her home; son, David (Tam) Taylor of Philadelphia; grandchildren, James Taylor of San Francisco, Cal., Cari Lyn (James M.) Taylor-Manges of Donora; great-granddaughter, Yasmine Taylor of Donora; brother, Robert E. Walters of Monessen; sister, Dolly A. Smith of Masontown and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Hunter R. Taylor; daughter, Ferne M. Taylor; great-grandchild, Rhys Taylor; sisters, Helen Walters, Evelyn Mason, Hilda W. Simmons, Florence Davis, Bernice Gummer, Doris Lee, Mildred L. Humphries; Brother, Theodore D. Walters. Jr. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. And Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue, Monessen, PA 15062. Family and friends will be received on Thursday, September 3, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm, in Union Baptist Church, 670 McMahon Ave, Monessen. Services will be on Friday at the church beginning at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Montae Nicholson officiating. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Monessen.
