Frank J. Galilei, 96, of Monessen, died on Tuesday January 5, 2021 in Overlook Green, Pittsburgh. He was born on August 6, 1924 in Monessen, the son of the late Alphonso and Lena (Vecchione) Galilei. Frank was a lifelong resident of Monessen and a 1942 graduate of Monessen High School. He served his country during WW II in the U.S. Navy Air Corp as a Gunner 3rd Class. Frank was a member of the Epiphany of Our Lord Church, its Holy Name Society and a longtime member of the choir. He was also a member of the Italian-American Heritage Society and American Legion Post 28. Frank loved music and was a member of the Italian Orchestra in Monessen for many years. He was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Monessen Plant, where he was a manager retiring in 1985. He is survived by a son, Gary (Debra) Galilei of Pittsburgh; two daughters-in-law, Cheryl Galilei of Monessen and Karen Galilei of Bethel Park; eight grandchildren, Joshua Galilei, Rebecca Galilei, Frank G. Galilei, Gina Galilei, Christa Galilei, Jessica Galilei, Christopher Galilei, Lara Galilei; two brothers, Domenic Galilei of Monessen, Alfred (Sylvia) Galilei of Monongahela; great grandchildren, Madison, Frank, McKenzie, Cora, and by nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret (Trenk) Galilei, and by two sons, Frank A. and Roger Galilei. Private family visitation was held in Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue, Monessen, followed by a Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Church with Rev.
