Ronald S. Godla

Ronald S. Godla, 74, of Monessen, died Saturday February 29, 2020 in Monongahela Valley Hospital Inc. He was born on July 3, 1945 in N. Charleroi, the son of the late Stephen and Rose (Seydor) Godla. Ron was a 1963 graduate of Monessen High School and a 1967 graduate of Penn State University where he received his degree in Industrial Engineering. He served his Country from 1968 to 1969 in Mannheim Germany with the U.S. Army. He was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Church where he served as a lector. He was Scout Master for Monessen Troop 1510 from 1993 to 1998, was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 954 and Monessen Elks 773 where he served as Exalted Ruler from 1976 to 1977. Ron enjoyed gardening and was an avid Penn State fan, attending and tailgating at football games. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Patricia A. (Lenio) Godla, two sons, Daniel S. Godla of Pittsburgh and Brian S. Godla of Phoenix, AZ; two sisters-in-law, Dolores Yonek and Kathy Steffey; and by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Pat (Godla) Monios. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 6 to 8 pm and on Wednesday from 1 to 3 pm and 6 to 8 pm in Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. and Cremation Services, 441 Reed Avenue, Monessen. Services will be held on Thursday beginning with a 9:00 am Blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 9:30 am Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Church.
